“I view therapy as a partnership. My role as a psychotherapist is to provide a warm, genuine, safe environment in which to address your concerns and to make meaningful change in your life. I see every client as an individual who has unique strengths, experiences and concerns. My goal is to support you in identifying and utilizing your strengths to grow and find solutions to your problems.
I work with you to develop your strengths and coping skills so that you will be able to face whatever issues may arise in the your life. As a therapist, my job is to help people who are facing challenges in life that lead to stress and unhappiness. I believe the best way to do this is to address past issues in a safe and caring environment that will allow you to gain a better understanding of how our past experiences affect our current issues.
I believe that for therapy to be successful, a positive therapeutic relationship must exist between the therapist and the client and trust is an integral part of the therapeutic relationship. I recognize that building trust can be difficult, but it is possible with the right therapist. I appreciate the opportunity to work with people who are struggling and to see them overcome fear, stress and unhappiness so that they can live a more fulfilled life.
I treat every person as an individual and tailor my treatment approach to your specific needs and goals. I use an eclectic approach to therapy but all interventions are evidence based to provide you with the best treatment possible. Therapy with me will be collaborative, warm, strengths based and filled with humor and mutual respect. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and 3 dogs. I enjoy kayaking, reading and yoga.
