Meshi is a Licensed Professional Counselor with experience in working with children, adolescents, young adults, adults and couples. Meshi understands that choosing to begin therapy can be a vulnerable experience for a client and believes that each person has a story that brought them to this point. She is skilled at encouraging each client to explore their individual journey to help them set their own personal goals and tailor their treatment to what they are looking to accomplish. Meshi will meet you where you are and get you to where you want to be. Meshi is personable, open-minded, and very supportive. She is passionate about empowering her clients and strives to meet each client’s specific needs. Meshi believes in using integrated therapeutic approaches in therapy.

Meshi has a Masters in Clinical Psychology from Benedictine University and has over 7 years of experience working in healthcare including therapeutic clinical experience in an outpatient therapeutic school and at a university psychological counseling center. Meshi has worked with all age ranges and cases including chronic addiction, suicidal ideation, trauma, loss and grief, OCD, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, personality disorders, abuse, relationship conflicts, and more. Meshi also brings in a unique background of multicultural dynamics and has worked with a diverse clientele including refugees, first and second-generation immigrants, and with clients of various religious backgrounds. Meshi has also worked with university athletes struggling with sports related anxiety.

As a therapist, Meshi believes in the importance of building a trusting therapeutic relationship with each one of her clients. This relationship enables the client and therapist to safely explore any current challenges or stressors that the client may be facing.

Meshi will develop an individualized treatment plan that is unique to each of her clients to help improve their mood, challenge their distorted beliefs, and help the client find a sense of self. She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy integrated with Person-Centered approach in order to help the client implement healthier thought patterns and coping skills. Meshi also implements expressive therapy techniques such as Art and music therapy in her sessions based on clientele needs.
