I believe our genetic make-up combined with our experiences shape who we are and result in the unique experiences we each have in our lives and in our personal relationships. I approach treatment holistically and utilize family systems, and psycho-dynamic and cognitive theories to help you accomplish your goals in therapy.

My role as a psychotherapist is to provide you a confidential, caring, and professional setting to privately address your concerns and to explore your options. My goal is to help foster change and growth and to help you reach your desired goals, in a confidential, empathetic, safe therapeutic environment.

I work with you to help find solutions to your problems—to develop and improve your coping skills and build a solid foundation that enables you to thrive and succeed. Counseling should not become a crutch. It should be viewed as a place to develop the tools you need to address the issues that arise in life. I believe the way to most effectively do this is by addressing past issues and experiences with the purpose of determining how they impact your current responses to situations, contribute to your emotional well-being, and shape your path to personal success.

Trust is essential to a good therapeutic relationship. Creating a trusting relationship can sometimes be difficult but the development process in doing so can help restore hope and can bring forth changes that so many clients desire. My role as a therapist is to help people who are facing difficult life events that are causing conflicts and unhappiness. I do this by providing a caring, safe environment where clients can discuss and explore their concerns. I feel honored to part of a process that helps my clients become less afraid, stressed and happier people so they are able to have a better, more enjoyable life.

My treatment approach is tailored to the goals, needs and personal resources that each client brings to treatment. I view psychotherapy as an active, collaborative relationship involving hard work, humor and spontaneity as we work together as a team to accomplish your treatment goals. In describing my style, my clients have used words like empathetic, warm and engaging. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and two Labs. I love attending my two children’s soccer and hockey games, riding my bike, yoga, cooking, traveling and volunteering at the local animal shelter.
